I was born and raised In Chili NY where I lived until the age of 19. At that point I left Rochester, never to return, when I joined the United States Navy. It took about a year and a half for me to realize what I was missing with regards to family and this fine place to call home.
Since returning to Rochester after my time in the military I fell in love with the South East portion of the city. It was here that many of my co workers and friends were living so it made sense to purchase my first home here. I first moved into a home in the North Winton Village area and lived there for a little over a year. A change in jobs and a fiance facilitated a move to a home that we felt we could stay in longer in Cobbs Hill. We were challenged by friends and family to "head out to the burbs" but we couldn't bring ourselves to it.

The city is where my job is, where we go out to eat, where we try and spend our money, and where we enjoy our time. It is also where I am active in trying to better the community. A good portion of my involvement is on the Rochester City Republican Committee and also with the ROC City Skatepark board. Both organizations are working each and every day to add value to the city and change the perception of what Rochester really is.
I am running for city council for one main reason. I have made an investment here and want to make sure it is taken care of. It is an investment not only in the purchase of a home but of putting roots down with the intent on starting a family. I do not want to end up being a "typical rochester parent" meaning that I have children somewhere else because there wasn't enough opportunity here. In my opinion if I don't stand up and fight to make sure that Rochester is the best place to live then I should not be surprised someday to find that my family is somewhere else.
